The Aster Hobby Co. Inc. has been manufacturing Gauge One Live Steam models since 1975. Their first model was the famous Southern Railway ‘Schools’ class locomotive which remains popular with enthusiasts to this day. Since then prototypes have been produced in Gauge One from the USA, mainland Europe and Japan as well as several examples from the UK.
The A4 Pacific ‘Mallard’ and Great Western ‘Castle’ class have proved particularly popular with enthusiasts and collectors. All Aster models are manufactured to the highest quality specifications and in strictly Limited Editions.
Once sold out they are never repeated. The values of an Aster model will increase over time. For example a ‘Schools’ class loco bought in 1975 will be worth 5 times more today in mint condition and probably 4 times more in clean used condition. Therefore your Aster model will not only give you much pleasure to own and enjoy but based on the evidence of recent history, will be an appreciating asset too.
